Keep it clean. Washing and cleansing to reduce oil and bacteria will definitely lessen your chance of having back acne.

One can also use over-the-counter medicines like salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide to clear the pores. Higher concentration is needed than would be used on the face. To keep your skin dry, you can also put a thin layer of tea tree oil on your back at least twice daily.

Wear light clothes. Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes that does not allow your skin to breathe. Cotton-made outfits are not only comfortable, it will also keep you back acne-free and dry.

Try antibiotics. Antibiotics like erythromycin and tetracycline might be necessary if the back acne does not clear with over the counter medicines.
