Most anti-bacterial soaps, shampoos and creams have now included tea tree oil as their main ingredient due to its effective treatment versus acne. Tea Tree oil came from stea, distillation of the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, which ca be found mostly in Australia.
How effective is Tea Tree Oil?
If you are experiencing mild-moderate acne, I suggest that you use pure Tea Tree Oil rather than soaps that has limited compounds of the oil. Tea Tree Oil is all natural; it has no other chemical substance that can irritate your skin more.
Tea Tree Oil is effective because it contains antimicrobial substance that can cleanse out all the bacteria living in the skin. Bacteria is one of the primary cause of acne, and by using Tea Tree Oil the bacteria, even on the deepest pores can be washed out.
How to Use Tea Tree Oil?
Using too much oil can irritate and even burn your skin and so proper usage should be followed. Use about 5% of tea tree oil solution and mixed it with 95% of water. The combination of water and oil may decrease the feeling of irritation and burning.
Also, tea tree oil’s side effect is lower and fewer than benzoyl peroxide which is the common medication for acne.
