How to Prevent Acne
- Aubrey Glaiza Sangalang

Prevention is better than cure. Just like what Greg Podsakoff, former acne sufferer and now an editor of acne-treatments-guide.com said:

“The best way to stop acne, and minimize acne scarring is to prevent acne before it ever gets a chance to start.”

So, here are some of the preventive measures you can through your daily routine:

  • Wash your face daily just to clean the dirt away after a hard-day of work outside.

  • Clear your face. Don’t let your hair touch your face. If you can’t avoid it, just make sure to shampoo your hair regularly.

  • Avoid squeezing your pimples for it might cause more harm on the skin.

  • Never sleep with your face buried in a pillow. The dirt and dust of the pillow case can cause pimples.

  • Avoid leaning your hands on your chin. You might experience chin-line acne.

  • Use water-based cosmetics. Oil-based make-ups could only increase the risk of developing acne.

  • Protect your skin from the sun. Sun exposure can damage your skin and can cause acne breakout.

  • Stress can worsen acne. Better take enough sleep and rest.

  • Always eat a balanced diet.

  • Dermatologists often advise their patients to drink lots of water everyday.

  • Mild acne can be treated with those over-the-counter products. Just seek for an expert’s advice for the right medication.

  • Sometimes consulting a beautician might help you on how to take care of your skin.

  • Choose light and loose clothing if you have pimples on your chest or back.

  • Do not go to places with oil exposure. Industrial chemicals can make acne worse.

  • A hot environment or if a place is not well-ventilated, a person tends to perspire more and thereby will aggravate an acne condition.

  • Worry no more. If you tend to worry more about life and have forgotten to enjoy it, the more you will likely to suffer from pimples.

Whatever treatments or preventive measures you research about; still the most powerful weapon to get acne out our system is healthy living. Healthy lifestyle is the best key to prevent acne.
