Men have a different lifestyle than women. Vanity wise, men is not as skin conscious than women. In fact, if we compare the beauty products of men to women, merely 90% are for women and only 10% are for men. Men tend to be masculine; they focus more on their activities than their skin. However, men suffering from skin problems are increasing. A new study shows that men sweat more than women and that their pores are larger which comes to conclusion that Men are more prone to have Acne.
What causes Male Acne?
Males are hyper actives; they are always on the go. They love their masculinity and care less on their skin or how they groom themselves. Because of their lifestyle, they tend to sweat more than women. The more sweat they produce the oilier and dry their skin becomes. Male pores are bigger than women and so without daily cleansing, their pores can absorb oil, dirt and even bacteria that can lead to Acne. Another cause of Acne to men is their improper shaving or treatment to their facial hairs or beards. The beards, if not properly maintained, can be itchy that can cause to irritation which is a major cause of Acne.
How to Prevent Male Acne?
The best solution to get rid of Acne is to have a proper way of maintaining proper hygiene. Men should also wash their face regularly with soap or moisturizers. Over the counter products for men are also increasing that offers soaps, astringents, moisturizers, toners and facial wash that are all for men. Consultation to trusted dermatologist at least twice a month is also recommended.
Is it okay for men to use products that known for women’s use?
Because of the minimal selling of acne products for men, men tend to use products that are known for women use. However, men should ask first their trusted dermatologist before trying these products because the skin type of women is different to men. Their Acne might go severe if they pushed through on using women’s product.
Caring for your body most especially to skin will not make you become less of a man. Because of the increasing number of having health problems nowadays, it’s okay to be vain whatever your sexuality is. Moreover, it is not about sexuality, it’s about caring your body. |
