Amidst the complexities, natural treatments that are easy on the pocket, are generally safe, and can be as effective as surgeries and medicines may prove to be the best treatment for you.

 

Herbal Medicines

One can use back currant seed oil or evening primrose oil daily for three months or until the skin condition improves. Herbalists also recommend echinacea, calendula, tea tree oil, and goldenseal. Drinking a tea made from lavender or chamomile is not only effective for acne but also relaxes and relieves stress. Chinese herbalists also uses Chinese herbs like cnidium seed and honeysuckle flower.

 

Healthy Food Choices

Nourish your body by eating foods rich in beta carotene, such as carrots, pumpkin, cantaloupe and other yellow-orange fruits and vegetables.

Ayurvedic medicine prescribed this cure for acne:

 

Eat lots of plain foods such as oatmeal, apple sauce, basmati rice. Foods to avoid are fried foods, spicy foods and citrus fruits. Mix 0.5 teaspoons of cumin, coriander, and fennel in a tea bag and dip it in hot water for 10 minutes. Strain and drink the tea after breakfast, lunch and dinner.

 

As a facial cleanser, try the following mixtures for facial mask:

one teaspoon of chick-pea flour with a little water or one teaspoon of almond powder with a cup of goat's milk.

 

Yoga

Include the following yoga poses in your daily exercise: standing sun, knee squeeze, seated sun, baby and cobra. It will increase the blood flow to your face, flush away toxins and provide nutrients to your skin.

Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic. It is gentle to the skin and speeds the healing of blemishes. Put a drop of tea tree oil to the affected area after cleansing.

Use a blend of one part beet juice, three parts carrot juice, and two parts water to stimulate the liver and to cleanse the system.
