Tretinoin or Retin A is a derivative of Vitamin A that can prevent the growth of acne by reducing oil production. It improves skin condition by skin peeling and unclogging pores. It effectively cures whiteheads and blackhead. It also eliminates wrinkles but it cannot cure acne. The effects of using Retin A manifest after six to nine weeks of continuous use. Expect the skin condition to worsen in the first week of using Retin A. For best result, it is recommended to regularly use retin-a for a year.
